Sue’s background in dairying has been extensive being a 3rd generation dairy farmer from both sides of her family. Her passion for dairying began as a child on her parent’s dairy on the Northern Downs. Never being too far removed from the dairy while at university, she returned from study and entered into purchasing a dairy farm. During 13 years of owning the farm she saw and experienced many changes within the industry. Sue later changed careers into retail semen sales, which once again kept her in touch with dairying as dairy farmers made up a large portion of her clients. Sue has three boys aged 14, 12 & 9 of which are involved in the industry. As part of the Cows Create Careers program, She visited her eldest son’s high school as an industry advocate and thoroughly enjoy working with the students as they explore career options in dairying. Sue gets a lot of enjoyment working with young farmers and has a number of life time friends within the industry. Sue is currently working on a large scale dairy as well as being the YDN Darling Downs Co-ordinator. |

Belinda has been working in the dairy industry in Queensland since 1995, following her studies in Agricultural Science at the University of Queensland. She worked for 10 years in a farm liaison role with the Dept Primary Industries and Dairy Farmers. During that time she lived in Toowoomba and spent most of her time working with farmers on the Darling Downs and the South Burnett. Over the years Belinda has enjoyed working with dairy farmers and in their businesses and has built good working relationships with farmers and some great friendships. After starting a family in 2003, Belinda began working in her own book keeping and consulting business and has since worked on many industry projects, particularly dealing with ‘drought management’. Belinda is excited about working with young farmers in the South East Queensland and NSW Far North Coast regions, being involved in their network and helping them further develop their businesses and themselves to move with the challenges the future brings the industry.
