The Darling Downs Young Dairy Network came into existence at the beginning of 2006 and since then has built a strong membership base. Our young farmer network aims to provide members with an opportunity to mix with like-minded, positive people while building skills and knowledge in areas that will help us develop our dairy business. And we like to have a bit of fun along the way!
The DDYDN has a strong emphasis on co-learning (learning from one another) and support for members. Being a member of the Darling Downs Young Dairy Network means you can tap into a vast knowledge base of young farmers who are facing similar challenges and opportunities.
Our region meets regularly. To ensure that our events are targeted and demand driven, the topics and content are directed by our Operational Steering Committee.

In the past we have covered topics such as cow behaviour, hay and silage making, dairy technology, calf rearing and climate change. On the social side we meet annually at our network Christmas Party to see who is the stronger region – the Northern Downs or the Southern Downs. We pitch ourselves against each other in different arenas such as backyard cricket, skirmish and lawn bowls.
