Young Dairy Network - Mid North Coast NSW
Phone: (02) 6653 5614
The MNC YDN has been in operation since August 2008 as a project established by Subtropical Dairy. The aim of the group is to establish a strong young farmer group on the Mid North Coast providing the membership base with skills, opportunities and confidence to progress their businesses. The group also acts a social group for the area and provides members with a great contact network both in and around the dairy industry.
The Network is an environment that allows young farmers to express and work through issues that are similar to the rest of the group and provides support to members to face the challenges of the dairy industry.
The MNC Network is still in its formative stages; activities have and will be targeted at the areas of interest to the group which will be identified annually.
The Network has run functions that include a sign on BBQ attended by both young farmers and young agribusiness professionals in the local community and a heat stress workshop presented as the Cool Cows work down by Dairy Australia and was presented by Mr Tony Dowman of the DPI. The group has also conducted steering committee meetings with more to be established in the future. Our next event will be a calf rearing workshop presented by Dr Matt Izzo of Sydney University.
