Our Young Dairy Farmers Network began in March 2008, our group being the first in our network to creep across the border into NSW and is largely based on the successful formula of the four Queensland groups which have been running for sometime longer.
Our groups main aim upon initiation was to create interaction and promote learning in a casual environment among the next generation of dairy farmers in our area which is arguably some of the more enviable dairy country available so as to assure the industry can successfully continue in our area.
To date this aim has been well met with farm walks forming a large part of our activities with all participants learning off each other and the guests that we invite along. Our group is always on the look out for relevant speakers and courses that can meet our needs as the future of the dairy industry.
Regular social functions are also held with the dairy farmers bringing along their families. These are always well attended and loads of fun with a bit of learning from one another going on as well.
